What is the Interbank?

By John Russell, About.com

Question: What is the Interbank?
Answer: The Interbank is not really a center exchange where everything is traded. Interbank actually means "between one or more banks". As it applies to forex trading, the Interbank is like a backroom where there are groups of people making deals. The prices are all close to the same, but not exactly the same.
